Second Wave

Set up in 1982, and based in Deptford, SE London, Second Wave's studio and rehearsal space offers a safe, creative meeting place for young people.
Our weekly, year-round youth arts programme is led by the creative intelligence of young people. The themes of our work reflect the reality of young people's lives in a demanding urban environment.
From our base in Deptford, and other outreach settings, our productions, platform events and speakeasys aim to break down stereotypes, bring people together and enhance local democracy. Our work is cited by the Home Office as an example of Best Practice.
Saturday and after-school programmes develop young  people's confidence and skills through accessible and affordable workshops in drama, singing, dance, rap/lyrics, new writing, music,
visual arts and production.
We deliver a unique award-winning youth leadership training and volunteers' programme which offers pathways to higher education, and paid traineeships for local young people.
We are a registered charity established in 1982, supported by regular funding from the London Borough of Lewisham.
