Synopsis
This unique video interviews community video activists about the phenomenon around community video and what it means to people. There are scenes of children shooting a video, the interviewee explains that the aspects of community video are twofold: one is people being involved in community video and the second, is individuals being able to see themselves on video. This is particularly prevalent for individuals with disabilities, who can build skills with video. Another interviewee explains that community video is interesting because it allows a community to reflect on itself. The footage ends with participants discussing what the future holds for community video in the 1980s. One individual explains that community video is the only industry that is expanding, another interviewee states, however, that in the new political climate, community video hasn’t adapted with it.
