While some choose to maintain independence others stride for success by crossing over into the mainstream market. Featuring Smiley Culture, UB 40, Maxi Priest, Gail Thomson/Courtney Pine, Jah Foundation, Adina Thomas, Zinnia and Harare Dread, Ambertone,Pax Nindi, Ras Benji, Step Forward not only looks at the music industry but also addresses a wide range of issues around black music, black culture and their representation.
