Synopsis

A black-and-white handheld video of the E1 Festival (6th Festival), filmed by Basement Project, featuring two bands playing popular Pop, Blues and Rock’n’Roll songs across the performances. The first male band plays songs including ‘Roll Over Beethoven’ (1956) by Chuck Berry, ‘Charlie Brown’ (1956) by The Coasters, ‘Lucille’ (1957) by Little Richard, ‘The Book of Love’ (1957) by The Monotones and ‘Blue Suede Shoes’ (1956) by Elvis Presley. The camera zooms in on the stage banner that reads ‘ Bigland Holiday Camp: The 6th E1 Festival’.

The next part of the video features a female band composed of four singers wearing satin dresses. They can be heard singing songs including ‘This Could Be the Start of Something Big’ (1956) by Eydie Gormé, Steve Lawrence, ‘Got to Get You Into My Life’ (1966) by The Beatles. The audience is large, with maybe around 100 people, composed of a racially diverse audience who wave at the camera.
