Synopsis

A short essay by Stuart Marshall where he talks about the medium of Video in 1984: 'For the last ten years the two major independent video communities – video artists and social action/agit-prop video workers – have been separated by major ideological differences. In Britain this gap is now beginning to close as community video workers increasingly question dominant televisual forms and video artists loosen their historical ties with modernism and begin to embrace issues of social and political relevance.'
