Pout: Issue One is a community-produced colour video magazine documenting lesbian and gay life in Britain through interviews, performance, satire, and documentary fragments. Produced by a collective of artists and activists from Outrage, the tape includes direct-to-camera interviews on sexuality, relationships, and family; staged performances with food, cooking demonstrations, and drag; and sequences featuring protest footage, home video, and television parodies. Locations include Brighton and London queer venues such as The Black Cap, Abney Park, and Old Compton Street, as well as the condom shop Condominia. Music and montage link sequences, while the programme concludes with a “queer family album” of community photographs.
