Synopsis

A kitchen-drama skit about an unhappy Black couple, as Elizabeth, the housewife, desires to make more of her life than her confinement to the domestic sphere. When she tries to assert herself to her husband Leo, she is faced with physical abuse and derision. While Leo cannot survive without Elizabeth – he cannot even make breakfast for himself – Elizabeth also ultimately returns to Leo, realizing both her lack of financially viable options, as well as her unwavering love for Leo. Fitting title, as we view Elizabeth’s cycle of entrapment.

Filmed on handheld video, this skit is filmed by both of the actors – they don’t appear on the screen at the same time, as one person is always behind the camera. We see some dynamic point-of-view shots within such a DIY set-up.
