We’ve been busy and are so pleased to share that we’ve received National Lottery Heritage Funding to deliver our project: Playback: Reactivating Community Video.

We’re thrilled to welcome to the team:

Cici Peng (trainee), film writer, film curator, film producer, she is a programmer for Sine Screen; Jaye Hudson (trainee) historian, actor, BFI Flare film programmer and director of TGirlsonFilm; and Phoebe Beckett Chingono (project coordinator), anthropologist, cultural producer, she is an archivist at June Givanni PanAfrican Cinema Archive.

We’ve been working behind the scenes on:

-Organisational development and long-term sustainability – we’re now officially a CIC (Community Interest Company)

-Apprenticeship-led cataloguing and curation

-Training oral history mentees to record and film community stories

-A fresh website

-A funded PhD studentship in collaboration with University of the Arts London, based at London College of Communication, co-supervised by Professor Pratap Rughani and Dr Ed Webb-Ingall (UAL) and Emeritus Professor Tony Dowmunt (LCVA)

-A partnership with London Screen Archives (@film_london ) where we’ve been collaborating on knowledge exchange, training, and improving the accessibility and visibility of the LCVA collection.
