Synopsis

Old Schools, New Buildings examines the fight for a new school building for Michael Faraday Junior and Infant Schools on the Aylesbury Estate in Walworth London. Staff, ex-pupils, current pupils and parents are all interviewed in the video that explains the great lengths the local community went to, to secure funding for a new school building, as the existing Victorian structure was no longer fit for purpose. It was even debated in the House of Commons and garnered footage from the press. Scenes of young school children engaging in Art and English lessons is voiced over by former pupils reminiscing about their time at the school.
